Causality and free will.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Change is the law of life.” But, is it? We like to believe that we’re the arbiters of our own will. But, EVERYTHING we ever do is sort of a contained activity. All of our doings is within the framework of culture or societal happenings. There is no action that’s independent of causation or this limited sphere of Thought. Can we do something that’s independent of reality? No. To do something, choice is necessary. Without causation there is no action possible. So, without causation there is no freedom of choice. We can only choose something we know about. Every choice is based on modifications made to Thought. So, where is free will?
