Forget the practical for a moment and see the existential or the abstract.

Kierkegaard was a “deeply religious soul” who found Hegel “unutterably shallow”. So he founded modern Existentialism with the remark: “put me in a system and you negate me — I am not a mathematical symbol — I am.”

No one can understand anyone. Stop trying. The cause and effect relationship gives the illusion that all of reality is fragmented but it’s not. The objects in reality are not objects at all. They are more than their properties. That’s why we don’t know the true nature of anything, at least not yet.

All my concerns are existential. The practical or pragmatic never enters my mind. I’m an exception that needs to exist just as you do. Don’t ask me to wear uniforms.
